Summer Scholarship Program

The Highland Park Conservative Temple-Congregation Anshe Emeth Summer Scholarship Program has been in existence now for many years. Created by Rabbi Hilsenrath, the goal of this program is to provide financial assistance to families who are committed to deepening their children’s Jewish identity through summer programming. Our scholarship program demonstrates that we, as a community, value this commitment and understand our financial support as a symbolic investment in the future of the Jewish people. We believe our program is unparalleled in the community.

In order to maximize our support for families who would otherwise be unable to send their children to summer camp, we have adopted the following schedule of allocations:
  • Israel Program: Children attending a summer program in Israel may apply for a $1,000 one-time scholarship that satisfies their eligibility for a Federation matching subsidy.
  • 8-Week Summer Program: Children attending camp for eight weeks will be eligible for a scholarship of $300.
  • 6-Week Summer Program: Children attending camp for six weeks will be eligible for a scholarship of $225.
  • 4-Week Summer Program: Children attending camp for four weeks will be eligible for a scholarship of $150.
  • Day Camp: Children attending day camp will be eligible for a scholarship of $100.
If your financial situation is such that even with our scholarship you will still not be able to meet the program’s tuition requirements, please indicate this on the application form.

In addition to our Summer Scholarship program, the Temple also offers the Dr. Julius and Ethel Mintz Scholarship for post-secondary study in Israel.

To apply for either of these scholarships, please fill out the application forms below and return them to the Temple Office by April 27, 2012 along with a copy of your completed Camp Application and a copy of your cancelled check.

If you have any questions, please contact the Temple Office.
